“Bleeding Eye Virus” Coming to America?

United States: A deadly virus is spreading in Rwanda, and it has health officials on edge. The Marburg virus—nicknamed the “bleeding eye virus”—is one of the deadliest diseases known to man. Travelers have been warned, but what about the rest of us? Could this nightmare be headed to America?

In a world as connected as ours, diseases don’t respect borders. One infected person on a plane could bring the virus here. Are we truly ready for something this dangerous?

Marburg is no ordinary illness. This virus kills up to 90% of those infected. Let that sink in—nearly everyone who gets it dies. It starts like the flu, with fever, aches, and vomiting. But then it turns terrifying: massive bleeding, organ failure, and blood dripping from the eyes, nose, or mouth, according to reports.

Rwanda has already confirmed 66 cases and 15 deaths. Many of the victims are healthcare workers—people who were trying to save others but couldn’t save themselves. The virus spreads easily through blood, bodily fluids, and even contaminated surfaces. Its natural carrier? Bats. Yes, the same bats that caused so much fear during COVID-19.

There’s no vaccine. No cure. Just hope that you don’t catch it. If that doesn’t make you uneasy, it should.

The U.S. government says the risk is low, but haven’t we heard that before? Remember when COVID-19 was “nothing to worry about”? We all know how that turned out—empty shelves, overwhelmed hospitals, and months of lockdowns. Marburg could be worse.

Here’s why: COVID-19 spread fast but didn’t kill most people. Marburg is different. It kills quickly—often within nine days. A single undetected case on a flight could spark chaos in any city. Imagine trying to stop a virus like this in packed airports, busy shopping malls, or crowded schools.

The scariest part? There’s no way to stop it. Doctors can only treat symptoms, not the virus itself. If it spreads here, how would our hospitals cope? How would you protect your family?

Let’s not kid ourselves. The government wasn’t ready for COVID-19, and it’s unlikely they’re ready now. Remember the mixed messages, the supply shortages, and the panic? Imagine what would happen with a deadlier virus.

During COVID, people fought over toilet paper. What will they do when the stakes are life or death? If Marburg reaches the U.S., you can bet there won’t be enough medical care, food, or supplies to go around. The time to prepare isn’t after it’s here—it’s now, as per certain reports.

Don’t wait for someone else to protect your family. Here are steps you can take to stay ready:

Stock up on essentials. Keep at least a three-month supply of food, water, and medicine.

Avoid risky areas. If you must travel, stay away from regions with outbreaks.

Follow the news. Stay informed about global health risks and don’t rely on “it’ll never happen here” thinking.

Preparedness isn’t about fear—it’s about control. Wouldn’t you rather be the person with a plan than the one scrambling in a crisis?

Health officials say the outbreak in Rwanda could end by December 22 if no new cases pop up. But viruses don’t follow schedules. They spread when we’re least expecting it.

So, ask yourself: Are you ready? If this virus lands in America, will you have what you need to keep your family safe? The government may not warn you until it’s too late. But now you know what’s at stake. Don’t ignore the signs.

Share this article with friends and family. The more we prepare, the better chance we have. Because when it comes to Marburg, it’s not about if—it’s about when.
