How Biden and Mayorkas Killed Laken Riley

United States: The Biden administration’s heedless immigration strategies have once more resulted in calamity, as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a work permit to a Venezuelan citizen accused of the homicide of 22-year-old Laken Riley, despite being aware of his criminal past.

This unsettling disclosure, delineated by Senator Josh Hawley, illuminates the perilous outcomes of Biden’s lenient stance on border security.

Laken Riley’s existence was brutally truncated during a morning run around the University of Georgia campus in Athens, Georgia. Yet, the Biden administration callously disregarded her safety by granting parole to her alleged assailant, Jose Antonio Ibarra.

Even though he encountered Ibarra at the US-Mexico border near El Paso, Texas, DHS authorities inexplicably justified his parole by citing “detention capacity,” a flimsy rationale rightfully condemned by Senator Hawley as legally untenable.

Despite Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data revealing myriad available detention accommodations at the time of Ibarra’s apprehension, the Biden administration shamelessly prioritized its Catch and Release strategy over public safety. Senator Rand Paul rightfully interrogated DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about the parole criteria, only to be met with elusive, uninformative responses.

Disturbingly, it later surfaced that Ibarra had a prior criminal record, including an arrest for endangering a child, which went unpunished and was expunged from his dossier. On the one hand, hearing that Miami Dade College has decided not to renew his academic fellowship status was upsetting; however, on the other hand, Ibarra sent a petition to the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) and received an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) which allowed him to be formally employed in the United States.

Senator Hawley’s scathing censure of the Biden administration’s policies could not be more explicit: their totally irresponsible inactions involuntarily (unwittingly) aided Captain Marsh’s atrocious action toward the young girl Laken Riley. Thereby, the Biden administration is blameworthy because it goes against the things Americans treat as their priority, which are safety and security over the interests of undocumented migrants.

It is very important that it shall be carried. There is a necessity of due accountability for the Biden administration and its horrendous mistakes and the loss of millions of innocent lives. However, we should not let the security of our communities become jeopardized when determining our immigration system that is not related to political issues. The future of Laken Riley requires one whole thing from the Biden Administration: a complete overhaul of his senseless policies on immigration.
