United States: A disturbed man shouting about wanting “all white people dead” ended up murdering two teen girls at a cafe in Manhattan on Christmas morning, the New York Post reported.
As per the authorities, the incident occurred at 11:25 am on Monday while the two girls were enjoying a Christmas supper with their parents at Tartinery in the Grand Central Dining Concourse.
Authorities and a law enforcement source said the man pushed a knife into the 16-year-old’s back, nicking her lungs, and stabbed the 14-year-old in the leg. The injured girls are being treated at a nearby hospital.
Steven Hutcherson, 36-year-old, is accused of yelling, “I want all white people dead!” “I’d like to sit near the crackers.”
Hutcherson, according to police, has a history of arrests and mental health difficulties, and he allegedly showed up at the restaurant and stated he wanted a table but wasn’t going to order anything. He was previously detained on November 7 for reportedly threatening to “shoot” a stranger in the Bronx.
“I’m gonna shoot you. I don’t care what kind of green card the government gave you,” he said, according to the criminal complaint against him. “Open your mouth and say something. I will shoot you right now.”
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, harassment, and assault.
According to the complaint, he then produced what the victim thought was a gun “from the side of his pants,” though authorities did not discover a handgun on him but did retrieve a knife.
