No Epstein Client List? DOJ Memo Sparks Fury as Musk Accuses Trump of Hiding Bombshell Ties

United States: In a freshly unveiled memorandum reviewed by ABC News, a sweeping internal examination ordered under the Justice Department and FBI’s Trump-era stewardship has concluded that financier Jeffrey Epstein left behind no verifiable “client list” implicating high-powered allies or collaborators in his long-running exploitation schemes.

This meticulous inquiry, accompanied by a cache of surveillance visuals, purports to affirm that Epstein’s 2019 death inside his Manhattan detention cell was by his own hand, rebutting persistent whisper campaigns and speculative narratives championed by Trump supporters and conspiracy-minded corners.

The revelation is anticipated to provoke dismay among those who’ve long alleged a grand cover-up. According to findings from the probe, officials stated that no actionable leads emerged to justify charging other individuals, noting that “investigative scrutiny yielded no basis to open cases against unnamed figures.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi, who had earlier vowed to unshroud troves of Epstein-linked federal material, later attributed delays to the vast volume—“tens of thousands” of hours—of seized footage, much of which purportedly includes disturbing depictions involving minors.

Yet, in a February display, Bondi distributed binders containing case material to pro-Trump digital influencers during a White House session—documents that turned out to recycle largely known details. As reported by ABC, the gesture blindsided administration staff and agitated Trump’s loyalists, who had been expecting groundbreaking disclosures.

Bondi has since found herself in the crosshairs of MAGA-aligned voices, with critics accusing her of withholding damning evidence. For years, the specter of a “client ledger” allegedly containing powerful names has fed feverish speculation that elite circles were being shielded, according to the reports by ABC News.

However, multiple internal DOJ and FBI sources quietly affirmed to ABC that no such record has ever surfaced.

Defending their choice to withhold further files, the DOJ’s statement underscored that “dismantling child exploitation remains a central mission,” before underscoring that wild conjectures surrounding Epstein “advance no cause of justice.”

President Donald Trump, under increasing scrutiny over the next anticipated phase of disclosures, was quizzed in the Oval Office on April 22 about when the next tranche would drop.

“I’ve got no clue,” Trump replied. “I’ll talk to the Attorney General, but I really don’t know.”

Meanwhile, tech mogul Elon Musk, still publicly feuding with Trump after stepping away from his administration advisory role, shared a provocative post on X, claiming the holdup in file releases stemmed from Trump’s own inclusion in the documents.

“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” Musk posted. “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT.”

The post joined a slew of Trump-critical remarks Musk later scrubbed from his timeline.

Responding via NBC News, Trump dismissed Musk’s claims outright.

“That’s old news—people have gone over this again and again. Even Epstein’s own lawyer said I had nothing to do with anything. This stuff’s been recycled for years,” Trump said.

“I hadn’t been close with Epstein in nearly two decades before he died. We weren’t friends.”

Privately, Bondi had reportedly urged FBI Director Kash Patel to comb through withheld intelligence, pressing him to revisit the underbelly of one of modern history’s most disturbing sex trafficking sagas.

Sources note that nearly a thousand FBI agents—many typically tasked with national security—were reassigned to the Epstein review effort, as per ABC News.

In a March exchange, Bondi was questioned by Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo about the rising unrest among Trump’s voter base over the lack of transparency.

“The MAGA group is mad that we don’t know more about the Epstein files…are you going to give us any more information?” Bartiromo pressed.

Bondi assured that FBI Director Patel was hashing out a timeline.

“We’re going to get out what we can, as quickly as we can, to the American people,” she promised.

Axios was first to break the story regarding the DOJ-FBI memo’s quiet release.
