Prez Biden announces official visit to Israel in solidarity amid Hamas attack

Washington DC, United States: President of the United States – Joe Biden, has announced that he will be visiting Israel to pay solidarity to the national and the government. This official trip was scheduled after the country was attacked by the Palestinian group – Hamas.

President will be visiting Israel on Wednesday, October 18. This announcement was made by US State Secretary Antony Blinken through his official handle on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Blinken also announced that the leaders of both the nations – Israel and Washington, have agreed to develop a plan to aid Gaza. “At our request, the United States and Israel have agreed to develop a plan that will enable humanitarian aid from donor nations and multilateral organizations to reach civilians in Gaza,” Blinken was quoted as saying.

This announcement was also made by President Joe Biden through his official handle on X. “On Wednesday, I’ll travel to Israel to stand in solidarity in the face of Hamas’s brutal terrorist attack,” the post by President Biden read.

The post further informed that the President of the nation will also visit Jordan. It was informed that during the meeting, Biden will discuss some important topics with the leaders. He will also focus on pointing out that Hamas is not doing anything for the people of Palestinians.

Biden stated, “I’ll then travel to Jordan to address dire humanitarian needs, meet with leaders, and make clear that Hamas does not stand for Palestinians’ right to self-determination.”

Blinken’s statement on President Joe Biden’s visit:

US Secretary of State Blinken shed light on the top US diplomat’s second visit since the October 7 attacks by Hamas. This statement was given by the official after an eight-hour meeting with the Prime Minister of Israel – Benjamin Netanyahu, at the Defense Ministry.

On Tuesday, Blinken in Tel Aviv said, “The president will reaffirm United States solidarity with Israel and our ironclad commitment to its security,” according to the news agency AFP.

He furthermore added, “Israel has the right and indeed the duty to defend its people from Hamas and other terrorists and to prevent future attacks.”

US State Secretary stated that President Biden will interact with the authorities of Israel to know their needs to defend their people as “we continue to work with Congress to meet those needs.”

In addition to this, Blinken mentioned that Biden hopes to “hear from Israel how it will conduct its operations in a way that minimizes civilian casualties and enables humanitarian assistance to flow to civilians in Gaza in a way that does not benefit Hama,” according to AFP.

Besides this, the US State Secretary has also underscored that the President will also talk to the Israeli government about working to bring foreign assistance into the impoverished and blockaded Gaza Strip. This discussion is important because the Israel Defense Force is preparing for a ground offensive attack against the territory – ruled by Hamas.

He mentioned that ministers from both sides will discuss the ways to help civilians away from harm.

It is to be noted that Blinken engaged with the media and leaders of Israel during his recent visit to the nation. During his visit, he also assured the government about the continuous and firm commitment of the authorities of the United States.
