Trump Warns Elon Musk of ‘Grave Repercussions’ for Opposing GOP-Backed Spending Bill

United States: In a candid exchange with NBC News on Saturday, President Donald Trump unleashed a bristling warning toward Elon Musk, cautioning the billionaire of “grave repercussions” should he lend his influence to Democrats, challenging Republicans rallying behind what Trump lauds as the “monumental and magnificent bill.”

“If he sides with them, he’ll face the repercussions—severe ones,” Trump voiced with a resolute tone during a phone dialogue with NBC’s Kristen Welker.

He doubled down without elaboration, “The aftermath of that move would be tremendously serious.”

Trump further revealed that his association with Musk had effectively crumbled after tensions publicly flared earlier this week, according to CNBC News.

“I extended him immense leeway, way before any of this spiral. In my first term, I offered him lifelines, arguably salvaged him,” Trump recalled.

He punctuated the matter with finality, “I’ve got zero plans to ever converse with him again.”

When probed about whether the fallout marked the end of their rapport, Trump responded flatly, “I’d say so, yes.”

In his commentary, Trump also lambasted Musk for what he labeled “utter disrespect toward the presidential office.”

These remarks stand as Trump’s most detailed and forceful take on the deteriorating dynamics with Musk, clearly underscoring that reconciliation is no longer on the table.

Musk, for his part, has not held back in rebuking the Trump-endorsed fiscal measure, which cleared the House recently.

This week, he branded the legislative proposal a “disgusting abomination,” warning it would spiral the national deficit into catastrophic territory.

In a pointed X post, Musk wrote, “Come next November, we oust every lawmaker who stabbed the American people in the back.”

The venomous critique appears to be a key trigger behind the growing discord between the two once-aligned figures, as per CNBC News.

Yet Trump remains unfazed.

In the same interview, he expressed full confidence that the bill would pass before Independence Day.

“I’ve never seen the Republican ranks this synchronized,” he asserted. “This legislation is first-rate—absolutely exceptional.”
