US-Canada border car Crash: Investigation continues despite reopening

Washington, United States: The Police of the United States have underlined the investigation into the car crash incident that happened at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing linking New York, USA, and Ontario, Canada. The incident has sparked security concerns around the US-Canada border crossings, leading to the closure of the US-Canadian border crossing.

The investigation has been taken over by the Niagara Falls Police Department’s Crash Management, which was earlier handled by US federal agencies, including the FBI. This decision has been taken after the FBI stated that this was not a terrorist event.

After taking over the investigation of the matter, the Niagara Falls Police Department Superintendent – John Faso, released a statement. He underlined, “Due to the complexity of the incident, the investigation will take some time to complete.”

“At this time, the identity of those involved is pending positive identification and notification to next of kin,” Faso added, according to Reuters.
