United States: Tuesday night local time saw Iran launch missiles at Israel, as Israelis across were told to seek shelter in bomb bunkers until further notice.
Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for the administration’s foreign policy failures in the Middle East and worldwide.
This comes as Iran fired rockets into Israel nearly one year after a brutal attack on Israel from Iran-backed Hamas terrorists, according to the reports.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated:
“A short while ago, missiles were launched from Iran towards the State of Israel. You are instructed to remain alert and precisely follow the Home Front Command’s instructions.
In the last few minutes, the Home Front Command has distributed life-saving instructions in various areas across the country. The public is asked to adhere to the Home Front Command’s guidelines. Upon hearing a siren, you must enter a protected space and remain there until further notice.
The IDF is doing and will do everything necessary to protect the civilians of the State of Israel.”
Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, an IDF spokesman, told the country that they will receive warnings on their cell phones from the Home Front Command.
“We are strong, and we are capable of this attack also,” he said.
Other officials sent warnings to Israelis not to take pictures or videos during the strike and to stay away from windows in case missiles dropped close by.
The United States had previously disclosed that it had intelligence about an impending attack by Iran.
When Iran launched about 300 missiles and drones at Israel in April, almost all of them were intercepted by Israeli air defenses and those of numerous American partners in the region, preventing any harm from being done. Shrapnel from falling bombs damaged one Bedouin girl, as per reports.
Update: It was reported that Iran has fired missiles towards Israel’s nuclear reactor located in the Negev desert near Dimona.
Update: Another statement was issued by the IDF.
“Iran’s attack is continuing. You are requested to remain in a protected space until further notice. The explosions you are hearing are from interceptions or fallen projectiles.
The Aerial Defense Array is currently identifying and intercepting launches.”
According to Israel’s Army Radio, Iran had declared that its strike was in retaliation for Israel’s July killing of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Israel’s Friday killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, and the deaths of Nasrallah and senior Hezbollah official Abbas Nilfroshan.
Iran claimed to have aimed only at military targets.
Unverified social media claims claimed that 400 missiles had been fired, of which two may have struck Israel. The remaining missiles seemed to have been intercepted.
Update: At about 8:30 p.m. local time, Israelis were informed by the IDF.
Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said that the Iranian strike had concluded and that no casualties or fatalities had occurred.
He warned all Israelis to proceed with caution.
He said Israel would respond to Iran “in the place and the time we determine. … We have plans.”
Update: According to IDF estimates, 180 missiles were fired, the majority of which were intercepted and caused minimal damage and no injuries to Israelis. Four hundred potential missiles were mentioned in the first reports, according to certain reports.
While the world is on the verge of WW3, neither Biden nor Harris has publicly made any statements. Shameful.
